1 BATX - THE TEN HARDEST JOB INTERVIEW QUESTIONS

#4: Name as many uses as you can for a lemon.
Here's some brain squezzing. Read the article How to Answer the 10 Hardest Job Interview Questions that I found in THE INDEPENDENT. They describe the questions but, unfortunately they do not tell you how to answer them; so, what I want you to do is:

1. Read the article.
2. Choose two of the questions.
3. Say how you would answer them if you were asked.

Your comments are expected to be sent before February 28th, 2016.

28 comments:

  1. I choose the first one that says an object that represents you it's because I always wear a watch with me, it means that I am a punctual person, I look at my watch at least 3 times in an hour. The second I choose is the number 7 that says to explain the yellow color to a blind, I will say that is a light color that represents the day, the light, ...

  2. I choose the first one that says an object that represents you it's the mobile phone because i can reseach about anything quickly, but the problem is i lose a lot of time using it. The second i choose the number 8 that says what is your favourite song, well, my favourite song is California Gurls ft. Snoop Dogg by Katy Perry it's very sweet and your mood considerably increases.

    Iván González, 1r Batx B

  3. I choose the first and the eighth one:
For the first question, I would bring a watch, because I consider me a punctual person and that is the better object that represents this.
And to the eighth question I would answer that of course, I love singing.

    1. Sergi, I know you are a man of few words but I'm afraid that these are too few. You are asked to give reasons for your selection.

  4. I'd choose the first question and I'd bring a light bulb because I'm very imaginative and I have lots of ideas. For the question number seven I'd give him a lemon and I'd let him feel how it is, then I'd connect it with other ideas like the warm of the sun.

  5. I will choose the question eight that tells you to sing your favourite song, and I would do it because I think I't's funny. And, finally I'll select the first, that offers you to bring an object that represents your personality. I think that it's a very difficult question but I like it. I will bring a paper sheet with a lot of colours, and I leave you the options to think what can this represents. I wait for your answer.

  6. 4. Name as many uses as you can for a lemon:
Easy... First of all you can make a lemon vodka, then you can serve a lemon garlic tilapia (Tilapia is a really nice fish), then as a dessert I would serve a Tom Collins (which is a really strong cocktail) they would be drunk by now and tips would increase. And finally I would clean my hands with the lemon because they say it takes off the fish odor.

    6. How would you unload a 747 full of jellybeans?
Now that I've read that article I know that I should start this with a: It depends... But before reading that my answer was: I would take the biggest box I could find and then I would put it right next to the airplane door, then I would open the door and with a big shovel I would "push" all the jellybeans inside the box. (I know it wouldn't work but at least I like to think that they would have given me the job because I tried my best).

  7. I would choose these two questions:
    7. Describe the colour yellow to a blind person:
I would say that the color yellow is a colour that represents happiness and heat, that brings goods vibes and makes you feel comfortable. But I would also say that if there's too much of yellow it can be stressful.
    8. What is your favourite song? Perform it for us now:
I would say that my favourite song is one called Best day of my life by American Authors. This song can make anyone happy and I wouldn't mind to sing it out loud.

  8. I would choose these two questions:

    3. Move these three chairs from one end of the room to the other.
I don't know what I would do. There are differents positions to put the chairs on the other end of the room. So I think that I would put the three chairs, one under the other, and with strength bring them.

    8. What is your favourite song? Perform it for us now.
I would say that my favourite song at the moment is Bridge of Bones by Crystal Fighters. I would start to sing because I love it, but the bad thing is that I don't do it very well.

  9. I would choose the question one and seven.
If I were asked for the question 1 "Bring an item with you to the interview that represents your personality" I would respond that the small balls that bounce a lot could represent my personality. Why? Because I'm very impulsive, sometimes I do things without thinking and I'm a little uneasy sometimes. Like the small balls, if nobody bother me or shake me I'm still but if someone bother me I start to move and get nervous (like the ball).
And if I were asked for the question 7 "Describe the colour yellow to a blind person" I answer that the colours are waves with certain frequency as the sounds and smells. To describe the colour yellow, I'll set, to the blind person, a sound with the frequency of the yellow, to associate the sound with the colour. He could also smell a lemon, to have more clearer the colour. Although I've never proven it, it could work...

    1. I don't know if showing your impulsivity would be a good idea. However, your solution to colours is absolutely clever. They might taste a banana, as well, wouldn't they?

  10. I have chosen these two questions:
    1. Bring an ítem with you to the interview that best represents your personality. I think it's a very difficult question, I've been thinking a long time something that represents me. Finally I chose a pencil because I'm a creative person and with it I can do a lot of things.
    8. What is your favourite song? Perform it for us now. It has been difficult to choose a favourite song because I like many differents types of music and singers, but finally I choose one called Mariposas by Rayden. It's a song that reminds me of a very happy time in my life. When I hear this song I want to sing and dance, but only in the shower.

  11. I choose the first question. The item that I would bring to my interview would be a book like Tirant lo Blanc, because in this novel you will find adventure, love, passion, friendships, courage, strategy and loyalty.
The second question that I choose is the number seven. How to describe the color yellow to a blind person? I know this is a difficult question but I would start telling them that it is a hot color. And then I would show them a lot of things that are associated with this color, well maybe not a lot but a few like the lemon or the banana yes. This way them could touch, smell and taste them.

  12. My two questions are:

    3. For move the three chairs I would take two in the first time and after do the travel I would return and I'd take the other, because if I'd take one chair in each travel I would do three travels instead of two and if I'd take all the chairs at the same time, I could hurt me and I would go very slow.

    4. This question is very common, I could cut some parts of pizza and if it seems to little I could cut the box for adjusting it to the pizza's size.

  13. My two questions are:
    1. Bring an item with you to the interview that best represents your personality. If someone ask me this question in an interview I would bring with me my friends (or a photo, that is easier) because I am very friendly and because I care for others.

    8. What is your favourite song? Perform it for us now. In this situation I would sing my favourite song in order to let them know that I am a very outgoing person and I like to transmit it.

  15. I would choose these two questions:

    7. Describe the colour yellow to a blind person:
the color yellow is the colour of the sun, and it represents heat, light and optimism. It's a colour that
is related to intelligence and beauty. I think yellow is the colour of the summer.

    8. What is your favourite song? Perform it for us now:
I would say that my favourite song is "Accidentaly in love" by Couting Crows. I love this song because it transports
me to summer. Is a song to transmit me hapiness.

  16. I would choose the question one and the eight.
If I were asked for the first question, <>, I would answer my clock. I meant, I’m not a controller person, but I’m very puntual and I like to have everything in the right place, but I think this didn’t make me be a controller person.
If I were asked for the eight question,<< What is you favorite song?>>, I would answer that I haven’t got any favorite song, but if I need to chose one I would choose Born This Way by Lady Gaga. I choose it because says that I doesn’t matter what you are, or what you love, the only thing important is that you are like this and If someone didn’t like it close the door on his face, he is not for you. And I will be very upset If I need to perform it.

    1. Alright, you don't want to perform it. This shouldn't be a reason for losing the job but not giving reasons why would definitely be a disaster. If you are upset in front of your favourite song, your might be worse in front of a difficult or a risky task.

  17. Firstly, I would answer the fourth question (name as many uses you can for a lemon). A lemon can be use on many recipes as for example to prepare fish, paella or drinks. It is used with beauty purposes, as disinfectant, natural whitening, exfoliant… It can even be used as flies and mosquitos repellent if it is mixed with clove.
The second question I would answer is the number seven (describe the color yellow to a blind person). I would try to make the blind person to feel this color. I would tell him that yellow tastes like a banana, feels like a sunbeam stroking skin, like good whether, optimism and it sounds like a peasant bell.

  18. I choose the question one : Bring an item with you to the interview that best represents your personality.
Now I don't know what item represents me. But I would bring a watch. Because I hate being late, and I don’t consider me an unpunctual person.
The second question that I choose is the number seven describe the colour yellow to a blind person.
I think that it's a very difficult question. Because, how do you explain the colour yellow to a blind person? The color yellow is warm, It's like to feel the sun on your skin. It is a bright and striking color.

  19. I'd choose the first and the seventh question:)

    1. Bring an item with you to the interview that best represents your personality:
I don't know how to describe myself. But, If I bring an item with me to the interview, I think the best thing is a clay. Because, I can change its form!

    7. Describe the colour yellow to a blind person:
This question is very curious; I can't use definitions of yellow things because he/she can't see. So, I think the yellow is the image or emotion that you think when you hear this word.

  20. I would choose these two questions:
    8. What is your favourite song? Perform it for us now:
I would choose the question number eight because I don’t care singing my favourite song in public. It’s assumed that in a interview you have to lose your shame and, what better way to do it?
    3. Move these three chairs from one end of the room to the other:
Then I would choose the question number three because it’s too easy. I would put one over the other and I would take them to the correct place and I would save a lot of time.

  22. I chose the 8)'' What is your favorite song?''for two reasons, first because music can give good first appearance of you, so if you chose a song of your favorites appreciated, and of a singer or group very admired for the society, you can give a step forward the job. Second, because is a good form to remove tensions.
And I chose 7)''Describe the colour yellow to a blind person'' because, altrougth they unfortunately can't see, they feel, so you can describe the sensations that yellow transfer. Like serenity and nostalgia of the sunset or stress and irritation is very intensive.

  23. I choose the first question and question eight:
    1. Bring an item with you to the interview that best represents your personality. I choose a book because represents that I want to learn new things all days.
    8. What is your favourite song? Perform it for us now. My favourite song is "See you again", because it talks about friends and family, and the importance that they have in our lives.
