1 BATXILLERAT - LET'S WRITE A POEM

Writing a poem from the scratch is a difficult task; only poets can do it and only great poets can do it well. However, some poet's works can be excellent sources of inspiration; so there we go: this time we are going to use some visual poems by the Catalan poet Joan Brossa (1919-1998).

I want to thank the Fundació Joan Brossa for letting me use them.

  1. Who can it be?
    What does it mean?
    What does it represent?
    Is it one person?
    Or two diferent ones?
    Why can it be opening?
    Or closeing?
    Can it have personality?
Or is it just a mask?
I will discover what it mean.
    And do I have
    to wear
    it?

  2. What can it be?
    Who can it be?
    Where could you find this?
    Does it unlock a safe?
    Does it unlock a life?
Do I use to open it?
    What does the alphabet mean?
Does it mean learning the alphabet?
    Or a speak?
    How can I
    find the
    lock?

  3. What can it be?
    Where did I find it?
    Why have I found it?
And, how do I use it?
    Or better, where?
    Is it for a door?
But it has the alphabet, so,
Is it a real key for a real door?
Or is it a sort of abstract thing?
The alphabet, letters, write, read, literature ...
    Knowledge?
Can this be the key to the knowledge's world?
    If it actually is...
    Am I going
    to use
    it?

    1. Well, Sergi, as a matter of fact, you MUST use it. You really are using it.

  4. What time is it?
    Is it important?
Is it relevant for my life?
Does the time go by fast?
    Or slowly?
    Does the time go away?
    Or it never returns?
    Nothing happens,
    but the time
    goes by.

  5. What can it be?
    Is it for me?
    Is it a key?
Can I soulve everything if I use it?
Where can I go with it?
    To a different world?
Or to the clouds of the sky?
What can I unlock with it?
    The door to death?
    Or your heart?
    An do I dare
    To use
    It?

  6. What can it be?
    Is it a train?
    or just the alphabet?
    Will it take me anywhere?
or will I get lost without a return ticket?
Do I have so much confidence to take the risk?
Am I strong enough to end this trip?
Do I have all I need to travell in it?
Do I have to be alone?
or will you come with me?
    Let me know please,
    Do I dare
    to take
    this risk?

    Is it for me ?

Is it a special clock ?

    Why a clock ?

    Does it any meaning ?

    Is it abaout life ?

Is it because life goes fast ?

  8. What can it be?
    It is a drawing?
    It is a letter composition?
    Or a password?
    Or a secret about anyone?
A key to a weird door?
    A mysterious union of lines?
    A seal hiding a monster?
    A solution that's waiting for a problem?
    If it a simple key...
Can it open a brand new world?
Can it open a strange place?
    And
    Can I use
    It?

  9. What time is ti?
Does the future really exist? And the past?
    Does time change people?
    Or do people change times?
    Can you control your time?
Or does time control your life?
Is death the end of your time?
is this end my main concern?
    And do I worry
    about the passing
    of time?

    Is it a mask?
    Is it a someone's face?
Are there more masks behind the top one?
Is there are a mask, then a face?
Has it got a double sense?
    what does it mean ?
    What's there under it?
    Is there anything dangerous?
    And do I dare?
    To look?
    At it?

  12. KEMBO

    What is it?
    Is it a mill?
    Is it a clock?
    What time is it?
    Is it the morning?
    Or is it the afternoon?
    Or is it at night?
Is it telling the time of diferent places?
And will I discove it or

  13. The key of knowledge

    What can it unlock?
    Do I use it often?
    Can I open a window?
Can I try to sell it?
    Could I discover the knowledge?
    Could I learn something?
Did it open the Prime Minister door?
Did it unlock any room under the floor?
    Could it be a copy?
Do you know where it is from?
    Do I dare
    to leave
    it?

  14. THE KEY OF YOUR FUTURE
This key is different from the rest,
    it opens doors by knowing.
    What doors can it open?
    Does it open a house?
    Where does it take you?
Is it a key to knowledge?
    The key that can open
    your door through the world?
    Does this make you smarter?
    Or even friendlier?
Maybe it's the key of communication.
And do I really use it
    to open something?

  15. What can it be?
    Where can it take me?
    Is it a snake?
Is it the travel of my life?
    Or a moving worm?
    Or a catastrophic end?
Or a mirage of my life?
Is it an oportunity for me?
Is it the beginning of the happiness?
Is it the victory of the language?
Do I need to be afraid?
    An do I have
    to take
    a chance?

  16. THE TIME

    What is the time?
    What you cannot buy?
    What you cannot change?
    What you cannot stop?

    Time is what happens
While you are busy making other things.
    Does it really exist?
    Wasted time
    Can not be recovered.

    Is it an illusion?
    Where is the past?
    Is it in your memories?
    Where is the future?
    Is it in your dreams?
    Would you change your past?

    And do I avoid
    To forget
    It?

Poem inspired in Joan Brossa's Kembo 1988.

  17. UNLOCKING KEY

    What can it open?
    Of who is it?
Should I take it for me?
Or should I leave it here?
    But what is its usage?
A key to open the town hall?
Will I be able to open all?
    Could I open my mind?
    Could I enter unreal sites?
Or could I open only real places?
    And do I have
    to use
    it?

  18. What can it be?
    Is it about me?
    Is it a ball?
    Or just a dice?
    Who gave me this?
    Is she a witch?
    What will it bring me?
    Good fortune?
    Maybe bad luck?
    Who knows?
    Do I even dare
    To roll
    It?

  21. What is this strange thing?
Is it the alphabet written down on a white paper?
Is it a stick whit a circle at the end of it?
    Isn't it?
    Is this a key?
Is it the key of knowledge?
Is it the key that unlocks the wisdom door?
    But the real question is,
    Should I use it?

Is it The metaphor of personality?
    Is it His secret?
Is it Ending this farce we are in?
    Or it’s just for sympathy?
Is it The start of a new age?
    Here?, Now?, For ever?
    Endless you?
    Really, are you ready?
Or are you afraid of suffering?
    Never showing yourself as free?
